Pateley Bridge Methodist Church is located at the top of the historic High Street in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. There has been a chapel on this site since 1776.
The current chapel dates from 1909 and was in need of major works to create modern requirements for the less abled on the first floor. Problems arose with the drainage and Saniflo were called in to advise.
A solution was needed to provide for internal drainage for the waste from three Doc M packs to existing drains at ground level.
A Sanicubic macerator was recommended, to be located in the Church basement complete with isolation valves.
Routes for the discharge pipe to the existing drains above and for the open vent off the machine were all agreed on location.
The remote alarm system for the macerator was located on the ground floor near the church entry.
Funding for the overall project was raised from the sale of a smaller chapel for conversion to a domestic dwelling within the dale.
Sanicubic is a high performing macerator pump that can discharge waste and water from multiple WCs and other waste water producing appliances. It pumps waste away through small-bore pipework up to 11m vertically, 100m horizontally or a lesser combination of both.
The unit has inlet diameters of 110mm for WC waste and 40mm for waste water. The unit can handle waste water of up to 70°C for short periods and has dual motors for absolute reliability and power. There are two alarms one unit mounted and one remote. The unit operates on a domestic power supply of 220-240V AC 50Hz.
Thanks to Saniflo Pateley Bridge church is now equipped to offer functional facilities to benefit the local community.
