Sanishower is a small but powerful pump designed to take waste water from a wash basin, sink or shower unit and pump it quickly and quietly away through small bore 22mm pipe work to a distant drain or soil stack. It is especially useful where a shower or wash basin is to be sited in a place where gravity drainage will be difficult or impossible to run - for example in a basement or on an internal wall of a property.
A small, unobtrusive product, Sanishower can be concealed behind a demountable panel. It has two entry points with non-return valves for shower and wash basin and functions automatically when water enters it, discharging waste water through 22 mm pipes up to 4 m vertically or up to 40 m horizontally. The principle of "plumb it in where you want it rather than where the soil pipe dictates" has been extended from bathroom and other sanitary applications to kitchens and utility rooms. The pumping problems in these applications are, of course, different. In a bathroom, the wastewater is generally of low temperature - even from a bath or shower - and drains into the unit by gravity flow. In a kitchen, appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines pump out soap rich water at high temperature. The pump unit required to deal with such waste is quite different to the pump needed for a bathroom application. It has to be capable of dealing with pumped high temperature water but it does not need to have a macerator to deal with waste.
